Description

Telescopic fibreglass-reinforced epoxy operating rod for live-line working and distribution line maintenance. High-voltage insulation: a safety barrier for live-line working and electrical maintenance. Telescopic or linked construction: easy to carry and store, and adjustable to the working length you need. Rigorous insulation testing: every batch is insulation withstand tested. High visibility: the tip section is fluorescent green for night-time operation and identification. Easy to maintain: a smooth surface that is simple to clean. Fibreglass tube: lightweight and durable, well suited to safe operation. Custom lengths: a range of options for flexibility on site. Non-slip end cap: a stable grip and reliable protection in use. Locking joints: the threaded joint stays firm once tightened, without shaking or working loose during work. Both types available: telescopic and linked-joint, so you can specify whichever suits the job. Storage and care: store in a dry, ventilated place away from direct sunlight and impact, and inspect the surface regularly.

Production & Quality

Pultruded tube, matched sections, tested before packing

The fiberglass-reinforced epoxy tube is pultruded on our own line, then cut, squared and matched into telescopic or linked sets. Every batch goes through insulation withstand testing before it is released for packing.

Pultrusion line: glass-fiber roving drawn from a creel into the forming line, with the cutting and finishing station alongside
The insulated tube is pultruded here: reinforcement is drawn from the creel into the forming line, cured, then cut and finished.
Hollow profiles strapped in bundles and staged at the production line, with reflective end marking on every bundle

Process — how it is made

  • Fiberglass-reinforced epoxy tube pultruded on our own line, which sets the wall thickness and resin content of the insulating barrier.
  • Sections cut and squared, then matched into telescopic or linked sets — 2 to 5 sections for working lengths from 2 m to 10 m, 10 kV to 500 kV.
  • Locking joints fitted and tightened so the threaded joint stays firm in service, without shaking or working loose.
  • Fluorescent green tip section fitted for identification and night-time operation.
  • Non-slip rubber grip and end cap fitted, then the rod is cleaned and checked before packing.

Inspection — how it is checked

  • Insulation withstand test on every batch, recorded against the production order.
  • Section-fit check: the sections are assembled and extended to the working length to confirm that the joints lock and the rod runs true.
  • Surface inspection along the whole tube — no cracks, voids or exposed fiber on the surface that provides the insulation.
  • Grip and end-cap check for adhesion and fit, because the handle is the part the operator relies on.
  • Final check and packing at 215 x 8 x 8 cm, 6.1 kg gross.
